Job Description:
In this position, the candidate will develop manufacturing work instructions to ensure efficiency, quality and consistency of work in the production of devices and subassemblies.
They will develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods utilizing lean manufacturing concepts and initiatives.
They will also research new technologies and techniques in lean manufacturing, and will work to improve assembly standards, training and certification processes in support of the lean initiative.
They will support the evaluation of product and material flow for optimization and support facilities layout improvements.
They will take a lead role in supporting assembly personnel resolving manufacturing related issues and support corrective actions.
Essential Functions:
Lead resolution of manufacturing issues as it related engineering changes, supplier quality or training/retraining assembly personnel.
Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Maintaining and evolving such procedures and systems as needed in a continuous improvement environment.
Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Project oriented with ability to form and lead cross functional task teams to resolve broad based organizational issues such as those concerning planning, process development, new product introduction, and product lifecycle quality and reliability issues.
Act as quality liaison for MRB (material review board) Perform sustaining engineering activities on assigned products.
Generate, review, approve and implement engineering change requests (ECR) activity as required.
Write and revise Manufacturing Work Instructions.
Utilize CAD.
Utilize ERP System.
Work with Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Technology, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
